Good morning,
Foremostly my sincere apologize for having to write to you in English. I would appear to be very incoherent if I wrote in German unfortunately. I appreciate your understanding
Last year I applied through a recruiter for a lateral entry position in Sachsen-Anhalt. Since I possess a foreign bachelor’s degree, I had to apply for the accreditation with the ZAB. The entire process took around 7 months. Now that it is here, I received an email from the Landesschulamt. Sachsen-Anhalt (Matorix Match) that I could qualify to teach
The following
1. Fach: Informatik bis Sekundarstufe II
2. Fach: Mathematik an Grundschulen
Neigungsfach: Mathematik an weiterführenden Schulen
Could someone shed some light on the above, does it mean I can teach two subjects or just one .
The situation now is as follows, I have to book an appointment for an online interview, where it would be decided how things would progress. I was hoping if any one from this forum could shed some light, or (an individual of NON-EU descent) has gone through the process.
1. How difficult is this job? I used to be corporate trainer (IT, Negotiations and Commercial contracts).
2. Are lateral entrants full time employees? Is there a pay scale to look at. (The recruiter does not want to discuss this). I do not live in Germany currently, and I need to make an educated decision for which I seek your assistance and am grateful for any advice you can solicit.
3. How many hours is a full work week? Standard 8 hours a day ,5 days a week routine or it differs?
4. Do you have to undergo any training before commencing the job? How long is the training, does one have to pay for it from his or her personal funds or is it considered as a part of the job activity
5. I need to sit the C1 exam. I currently possess a B2, except for my writing skills which is mundane. My Comprehension, Spoken and vocabulary are fine. Sitting the C1 is almost a 60 day preparation period so wanted to know if it makes economical sense.
6. Is there a high Attrition rate, or the American standard of Hire and Fire policy.
7. Any advice, suggestions or experiences are welcome .
Thank you for your time and patience, looking forward to your response.
