Also ich habe mir gedacht:
1. Sandwichmethod or working with english subtitles
- make sure students understand the film
2. objectives:
intercultural competence
- students should learn to be able to see thing from new/different
perspectives (kennt jemand die Übersetzung für Perspektivwechsel"?)
media literacy
- students should learn to think critically films and how they influence
the view of a society upon another culture
- students should acquire knowledge about filmic means of manipulation
3. reasons for choosing "East is East"
- authetical cultural product
- the events in the film can be dynamite for the motivation to
communicate
- provides insights into British and Pakistani culture
- admits experiences about foreign values, norms, and their view of
the world
- offers the possibility to work on activity and process based tasks
- helps students develop a reflexive standpoint concerning films
+enable students to develop a critical view upon the effects films
can have on society
- offers the possibility to not only cognitively but as well emotionally
understand the other
